GENERAL:

The Peugeot 403 Cabriolet (1956–1960) is a stylish, rare convertible designed by Pininfarina, known for its “pontoon” styling and role as Detective Columbo’s car. While the sedan was a huge success, only around 2,000 cabriolets were built, featuring luxury leather interiors and a 1.5L engine. It is now a prized, elegant classic.

For sale we have an unrestored example in a rare shade of orange, it was part of collection of French vehicles here in Finland.

BODYWORK & PAINT:

It is very presentable but has a few signs of previous repairs, the beauty with it not being a restored vehicle is that imperfections are still visible.

Underneath it is solid and rust free, only real visible sign of a repair is a weld patch along the driver side floor that is also visible from the inside when lifting the floor mat.

Paint has been checked for thickness and had mainly low readings (some very low), only higher readings were in the visible repaired arears. It has for sure been repainted at some stage but defiantly not for a long time.

TECHNICAL:

Drives well and has been used nearly every summer, always maintained when needed.

Rear exhaust muffler will soon need replacing.

Could be collected and driven home.

INTERIOR:

Seats are original, faded but not ripped. Carpet is aftermarket and not original.

The roof has faded but is in very good condition, it is hard to say weather it is original or not. Frame is also very good and looks to be original.

DOCUMENTS:

It has the current style Finnish EU registration certificate and a Finnish Museum vehicle certificate.
