Opel Kadett C GT/E

A rare opportunity to own a genuine Opel Kadett C GT/E, rather than a replica or converted standard Coupé. These early GT/Es are becoming increasingly difficult to find, particularly in such original and presentable condition.

This example is a 1976 Kadett C GT/E, originally sold new in Finland and now museum registered. The chassis plate identifies it as a 1976 Kadett C Coupé, built at Antwerp II, Belgium, with chassis number 3265181636.

The car retains its correct 1.9E engine, stamped 19E, and presents very convincingly as an early GT/E. The engine and mechanical specification are consistent with the original 1.9-litre GT/E, while the car also has a later fitted 5-speed Getrag gearbox.

Condition

The car is in nice, largely original condition and has clearly been cared for. The exterior has been repainted at some stage and remains very presentable, while the inner areas of the body appear to retain their original paint.

The distinctive yellow and black GT/E colour scheme gives the car an unmistakable period appearance, complemented by the characteristic GT/E interior and instrumentation.

It was recently road inspected on 09/07/2026 and drives very well. It is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.

Points to note

As with any 50-year-old car, there are some imperfections which should be understood:

• Some overspray is visible on the window rubbers from the exterior repaint.
• The driver’s seat shows some wear.
• There is some cracking to the filler on the lower right-hand side of the front valance area.
• The car has been repainted externally at some point, although the inner body areas appear to retain their original paint.

These points are reflected in the overall presentation and should be viewed as part of the car’s history rather than an attempt to present it as a freshly restored concours example.
